On December 19, local time in the United States, a delegation of Anhui Province held the “Beautiful Anhui Engages with the World” 2023 Anhui Cultural and Tourism (Maryland) Promotion Event in the state of Maryland, aiming to promote cultural and tourism exchanges between China and the United States, deepen cooperation in relevant fields, and further enhance the reputation and recognition of Anhui’s cultural and tourism brand.
Maryland is Anhui Province’s first provincial-level sister city. Over the past 43 years, the two sides have deepened practical cooperation in mutual respect and trust, conducting fruitful exchanges at various levels, including government and civil society. They have achieved significant results in fields such as trade, culture, tourism, education, and healthcare.
During the promotion event, officials from the Anhui Provincial People’s Government introduced Anhui’s geographical advantages, economic development, resource endowments, technological innovation, manufacturing industry development, historical and cultural heritage, and more. The day’s activities included interactive sessions such as “Beautiful Hui Tea” tea art instruction and interaction, as well as a creative presentation by a student group from the University of Maryland called “Collision of Eastern and Western Beverages,” allowing the attendees to experience firsthand the exchange and integration of Chinese and American cultures.

Over 100 participants attended the promotion event, including members of the Anhui Provincial delegation, representatives from the Chinese Embassy in the United States, officials from the Maryland state government, teachers and student representatives from the University of Maryland, as well as representatives from American business associations and enterprises.
