The 2024 Taoyuan Busking Festival concluded successfully on August 31 and September 1 at the Zhongyuan Cultural and Creative Park! This year’s event, themed “Art Moves the World, Gathering in Taoyuan,” highlighted Taoyuan’s cultural diversity and artistic innovation as an international city. The festival attracted street artists from around the globe to Taoyuan, where they freely showcased their creativity and talents. The event facilitated deep exchanges and interactions with local artists and residents. The Taoyuan City Government expressed that the “Taoyuan Busking Festival” has been held for many years, attracting numerous street artists annually. It is a grand event where artists and audiences can participate, experience, and appreciate street art together. The 2024 Taoyuan Busking Festival expanded its international reach, showcasing the unique talents of Taoyuan’s street artists. Participants were immersed in the city’s rich cultural depth and vibrant spirit. Through this grand cultural exchange, art transcended performance, becoming a bridge across cultures and languages, connecting people from diverse backgrounds and highlighting Taoyuan’s growing prominence on the international stage. In response to the Paris Summer Olympics including “Breakdancing” as an official event, symbolizing the arrival of street art culture on the global stage, the festival has specially invited renowned Korean street dance team Mannequeen, famous balloon artist KIM, renowned Japanese street magician Nao Izuma Murata, and acclaimed Japanese acrobatic street artist Hiyro to showcase artistic styles from different cultural backgrounds.

The Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Taoyuan City Government stated that this year’s festival not only offered rich performances and interactive experiences but also featured the highly anticipated “Taoyuan Street Art Battle”, with a total prize of up to 300,000 NTD. The competition was fierce, and the winners earned their final glory with outstanding skills, receiving thunderous applause from the audience. The battle in the comprehensive performance category pushed the event to its climax, showcasing the limitless possibilities of street art. During the two-day event, in addition to various exciting street art performances, there were also activities such as the Starry Sky Food and Creative Market, Street Art Workshops, Static Art Corners, and the Festival Art Fun, ensuring that participants left with unforgettable memories. The daily lottery gave those who completed the challenges a chance to win great prizes like GOGORO, round-trip tickets to Okinawa for two and electric scooters, filling the event with anticipation and surprises. The street art closing parade was one of the highlights of this grand event, featuring performances by groups such as Body Sound Theater, famous Korean balloon artist KIM, and renowned Japanese acrobatic street artist Hiyro, attracting large crowds and perfectly concluding the event, leaving lasting and cherished memories.
